Alvaro Garnero was removed from preliminary judges list for meeting Miss China? Well, there has been no confirmation from the Miss Universe Organization. However, Alvaro Garnero was actually removed from the list of preliminary judges on MUO website.

After photos of Brazilian businessman Alvaro Garnero welcoming Miss China and her national director at his office in São Paulo a few days ago were published in the internet, several national directors protested and this morning his name no longer appeared in the list of judges at the pageant’s official website.

Now only six judges have been confirmed.
It seems the Miss Universe Organization trying to avoid a scandal that could happen.

Please note that the photos that circulated were taken prior to his being invited as a judge. He was not a judge at the time it was taken which was a scheduled lunch on Aug 22 prior to official registration day. He was asked a few days after by Miss Universe Org. Our understanding is the situation and misunderstanding is resolved.
