8th April Nicola Mimnagh showcases Scottish style |
Miss United Kingdom Nicola Mimnagh was one of the star models at the ninth annual "Dressed to Kilt" fashion show held in New York on 5th April at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Organised by Friends of Scotland, an organisation founded by Sir Sean Connery, the event is the highest profile Scottish fashion showcase in the world, providing Scottish designers the platform to show off their work, with new takes on kilts and tartan on display.
This year's theme was Country Chic, mixing traditional Scottish attire with a country and western flavour, with all proceeds donated to Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Erskine Hospital of Scotland, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Other stars on the catwalk included actors Kiefer Sutherland, Brian Cox, Chris Noth, and Jason Patric, musicians Paolo Nutini, Kellie Pickler, and Kix Brooks, and comedian Brian Connolly.
